Kid Magic + How To Look Better On Video Calls

I hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy, safe and sane during these challenging times. Here at 12 Hill Drive, we are doing our best to cut each other a little extra slack and look for silver linings.

My biggest silver lining is spending more time with my kids. One of the fun projects we’ve done together during the shelter-in-place order is to create the first episode of Ben & Jake’s Crazy Kitchen – their new cooking show!

I can’t shoot for my commercial clients right now, so I was delighted when Ben & Jake hired me to shoot this project. I’m grateful that they were willing to take this risk since I don’t have any previous experience shooting cooking shows ;-) They made all the creative decisions, from working out the story and jokes to choosing the music. Bear in mind that this client has a clear sense of message: funny; and audience: other kids. Don’t miss the bloopers at the end!

On the business side, Caroline, Peggy and I have been focusing our energy on how to pivot and adapt. I don’t know exactly what the future holds, but I know we will find our path. We have wonderful clients, amazing colleagues and most of all we are part of strong communities.

As we settle into our new reality, having somewhat stabilized our business and our lives, we’re turning our attention toward what we can do to help others. We’ll continue the work we do with various non-profits, and we will find more ways to help. One small way is to share my knowledge of photography. I’ll be using some of the extra time here in the studio to record more Tyler’s Tips episodes, starting with this:
