Shooting high-end retail is a rare opportunity for me to let my inner perfectionist run wild. The attention to detail in both design and craftsmanship of these spaces is remarkable! For this project, we shot various boutiques around the San Francisco Bay Area for Panerai, Tourneau and Jaeger-LeCoultre.
While luxury watch and jewelry shops have the typical challenges of architectural interior photography such as finding a pleasing composition, balancing high contrast and mixed color light, and staging/styling/cleaning, these spaces also add the fun challenge of managing the reflections on the display cases. So many reflections! The interior sides and backs of these cases are especially sneaky…
Special thanks to Peggy Kinstler for the extraordinary amount of compositing and retouching these images required!
