Public Architectural Photography and Video – CHP Area Office

One of the great joys of my job is the way my camera takes me behind the scenes and into hidden worlds. This sort of thing deeply satisfies my overactive curiosity muscle! Glass Architects‘ goal for this shoot was to go beyond typical architectural photography and also tell the story of what it’s like for the California Highway Patrol officers and employees to work and inhabit the Chico Area Office.

I’ve had little interaction with law enforcement during my life (with the exception of a teenage indiscretion involving Mom’s Thunderbird…) and I didn’t know what to expect. Our team was delighted by the kindness and absolute professionalism the officers at this facility brought to our shooting days. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to visit the day to day human reality of this world for a moment.
